ICT Expo 2026: Inspiring the next generation

A Tasmanian Government listed event where schools can explore University of Tasmania ICT capstone projects and specialist hubs covering application development, artificial intelligence, cyber security, games, IoT and machine learning sessions.

Whether you’re aiming for a career in ICT or is simply curious about how AI and Cyber security are reshaping the world, this event offers a unique window into the future of STEM.

What’s on?

Graduating students from the University of Tasmania’s School of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) will present their final-year capstone projects in an interactive poster and demonstration session.

Beyond the project booths, schools can also visit the dedicated hubs to meet expert staff and explore their research in:

  • Application & Web Development: Meet top-performing Mobile App Development students and demo their major projects.
  • Artificial Intelligence: Discover how Large Language Models (LLMs) are integrated into teaching and research at UTAS.
  • Cyber Security: View a live threat-map and discuss the evolving digital landscape with specialists.
  • Games & Creative Technologies: Play projects from first and second-year students and learn how they help developers publish on major consoles.
  • Internet of Things: Explore cutting-edge sensors and learn about new industry-integrated IoT major.

Registrations

This event is for students in Years 9-12. Schools will need to register their interest for either the 10am–12pm session or the 12pm–2pm session, as well as any hands‑on activities they’d like to join. 

If you have younger students or more than 25 students interested in attending, please let us know on the registration form.
