Our department is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in Schedule 1 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The Privacy Act regulates how we may collect, use, disclose and store personal information. We also hold personal information in accordance with the Archives Act 1983 (Cth).
Types of personal information collected
In this engagement we will collect personal information you provide including your organisation, email address, comments and opinions.
By including personal information in your response, you consent to the department collecting, using and disclosing that information in accordance with the Privacy Act and the APPs. If you need to include personal information about another individual in your response, you will need to inform that individual of the contents of this statement and obtain their consent to us collecting their personal information.
How collection occurs
Engagement sessions will be held via Microsoft Teams and will be transcribed.
How do we use your personal information?
We are seeking your input on AI risk assessment and agentic AI. The National AI Centre will be using this information to inform its program of work and guidance materials over the coming year, including the delivery of a new platform to support responsible use of AI. Your information may also be used to evaluate DISR programs and stakeholder activities.
We may use your details to contact you, if needed, to clarify any feedback and comments you provide.
We use secure and department approved Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to support the analysis of information provided when you complete the survey. Our use of AI is consistent with the department’s Artificial Intelligence Transparency Statement.
When do we disclose your personal information?
We may share information with other government agencies or ministers’ offices with an interest in the topic. In these instances, responses will be deidentified and aggregated.
We will not use or disclose your personal information without your consent except where required or authorised by law.
Storing your personal information
Your personal information is stored in secure department systems and will be used by NAIC staff directly involved in the project or staff who will use responses to inform their work in the NAIC.
